In Latvia the sun doesn’t go up and down, it goes around the sky. Things here turn with the sun or against the sun instead of clockwise and counterclockwise. When you go against the sun you clean out and release, going with the sun protects and holds in. Knitting in the round you knit with the sun. Knitting fringe you turn and knit against the sun. Jumis is a two headed grain. It is a symbol of fertility and abundance. When you clear out the unnecessary, there is room for an abundance of goodness to enter.
