Raksti Lined Hat

Latvians do not say they embroider or weave or knit patterns, they use the same word as for writing- raksti. Raksti tell a story. The master weavers of Lielvārde are known for their epic several meters long woven belts where the intricate patterns are ever changing and tell the story of the origins of the universe, the big bang, my inspiration for this hat. I topped that with a sun pattern reminiscent of the crystal baubles from Nica’s crown.
